Incheon City Council Calls for Readjustment of Aging Planned City Redevelopment Zones

The Incheon City Council has urged authorities to avoid applying a uniform standard to redevelop complexes with vastly different housing conditions, and instead to formulate a plan to readjust redevelopment zones that reflects on-site realities.

Currently, Incheon City is pushing for the redevelopment of aging planned cities; however, criticism has been raised that the current plan fails to adequately reflect the significant differences in characteristics between complexes, such as housing forms, even within the same redevelopment zone.

During City Council discussions, the issue of lax supervision regarding the Sungin Underpass was raised alongside the redevelopment zone issues.
