Xi Jinping's WAIC Snubbed: South Korea Refuses High-Level Invitation

It has been confirmed that the Chinese government repeatedly invited high-ranking officials from the South Korean government to this year's World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC), an event heavily promoted by President Xi Jinping. However, South Korea ultimately limited its delegation to lower-level officials.

Despite repeated requests from the Chinese government via the Chinese Embassy in Korea for the attendance of high-ranking officials, the South Korean government decided after deliberation to dispatch only a science and technology attache from the Embassy of South Korea in China and an AI division chief.
