Oh Se-hoon Meets with Senior PPP Lawmakers... Discusses Push for June 3rd Election White Paper
Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon has held meetings with senior People Power Party (PPP) lawmakers and discussed the creation of a 'white paper' to analyze the results of the recent local elections, signaling a move to bolster his standing within the party. Rep. Yoon Sang-hyun revealed on the 21st that "I proposed the compilation of a June 3rd local election white paper and the organization of a youth dialogue forum to Mayor Oh, and gained his agreement."
Mayor Oh met with Rep. Ahn Cheol-soo and Floor Leader Jeong Jin-seok sequentially on the 9th, and met with Rep. Kim Gi-hyeon on the 19th. This was followed by a breakfast meeting with Rep. Yoon at Seoul City Hall on the morning of the 21st. Rep. Yoon relayed that Mayor Oh mentioned party innovation measures during the meeting, such as the abolition of the party representative system, transitioning to a parliamentary party, and institutionalizing public nominations. Additionally, Yoon revealed that the Mayor asked him to speak out on pending issues at the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.
Mayor Oh is scheduled to attend the first-instance ruling on the 'allegation of Myeong Tae-kyun paying for opinion polls' at the Seoul Central District Court at 2 p.m. on the 22nd. This ruling is expected to influence the future movements of key party figures and the political schedule.
