Industry Minister, Trade Chief to Visit U.S. to Respond to Trump's New Tariffs

The Blue House announced on the 22nd that the Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy and the Chief of the Office for Trade Negotiation plan to visit the United States this week to hold consultations with the U.S. Department of Commerce and the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR).

The visit aims to respond to the U.S. plan to impose new tariffs ahead of the expiration of global tariffs.

The Donald Trump administration is reportedly preparing to impose new tariffs based on Section 301 of the Trade Act to replace the existing 10% 'global tariff,' which expires on the 24th after the Supreme Court ruled that mutual tariffs were illegal.
