Hwang Hyun-hee: 'If the market corrects, buy in increments of 20 million won'
Comedian-turned-investor Hwang Hyun-hee recommended a staggered buying strategy—splitting funds to buy small amounts after the market stabilizes—advising that it is dangerous for novice investors to enter a market where stock prices are fluctuating wildly as they are these days. Calling a market that rises 7% and falls 8% in a day "a market for pros," he advised that if one has 100 million won, they should not invest immediately but rather buy in five tranches of 20 million won each. He also emphasized the need to study before investing, noting that if one starts small and learns, but then misses out on profits, their mentality could collapse.
Hwang Hyun-hee cited U.S.-driven AI issues as a future market variable. "There is a possibility of a correction by the end of the year along with articles asking if the 'AI bubble has burst' in the U.S.," he said.
In addition, he recommended the Nasdaq and S&P500 index ETFs (QQQ, SPY) and KODEX200 as investment targets over individual stocks. Hwang revealed that he maintains a cycle investment strategy of starting to invest when prices have fallen more than 30% from their peak.
Hwang Hyun-hee, a former KBS 19th-generation comedian, studied corporate economics at Yonsei University's Graduate School of Economics.
