Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon Fined; Potential Shifts in Power Dynamics within PPP Loom
Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon was sentenced on the 22nd to a fine of 10 million won and a penalty resulting in the loss of his public office during the first trial of the 'Myeong Tae-kyun opinion poll payment' scandal, immediately declaring an appeal.
Accordingly, within the People Power Party (PPP), the possibility of changes in the party's power structure is being cautiously discussed in relation to Mayor Oh's future course of action.
A second-term lawmaker from the pro-Han faction emphasized that Mayor Oh is a rational figure and stated that it is premature to discuss changes in the party's internal dynamics, including discussions on the return of independent lawmaker Han Dong-hoon to the party.
