So Byung-hoon, chairman of the Democratic Party convention election management committee, announced the results of the preliminary election for party leader at the National Assembly on the 23rd, confirming the advancement of three candidates—Jeong Cheong-rae, Kim Min-seok, and Song Young-gil—to the primary.
With the elimination of Rep. Ko Min-jung and former Gangjin County Council member Kim Bo-mi in the preliminary election held from the 21st to the 23rd, the race for party leadership has shifted to a three-way contest.
