President Lee: 'Even If We Use All Land in Seoul, Housing Supply Has Limit'

President Lee Jae-myung stated on the Nth day at the Housing Policy Public Debate held in Yeouido, Seoul, that it is becoming difficult to secure additional land for housing construction in the capital, marking a clear physical limit to housing supply.

President Lee explained that in the past, during the expansion of the metropolitan area, housing issues were resolved by releasing green belts or building new towns, but the current situation in Seoul makes securing land for development virtually impossible.

In particular, he pointed out that whenever attempts are made to develop housing sites, fundamental constraints on expanding supply arise due to a combination of opposition from nearby residents concerned about environmental damage and calls to utilize existing plots of land.
