Jensen Huang Announces $500 Billion Partnership with SK and Hyundai Motor
NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang announced on the 24th that he has signed a business partnership worth $500 billion (approximately 6,700 trillion won) with SK Group and agreed to jointly develop autonomous Genesis vehicles with Hyundai Motor Group. This announcement of cooperation was promoted as part of the 'San Francisco AI Summit' event held in San Francisco.
President Lee Jae-myung, along with key domestic business leaders including Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jae-yong, SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won, and Hyundai Motor Group Chairman Chung Euisun, as well as global Big Tech executives such as NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang and OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, attended to continue discussions on expanding the AI ecosystem.
SK Group and NVIDIA agreed to a cooperation worth over $500 billion, including the construction of AI factories and the supply of next-generation memory. SK Telecom plans to adopt NVIDIA's next-generation GPUs and 'DSX' platform to build the largest 2GW-scale AI factory in the country, while SK Hynix decided to pursue joint development and long-term supply cooperation for AI memory, such as HBM, over the next five years.
President Lee Jae-myung mentioned that young Koreans and local residents have high expectations, linking it to Hyundai Motor Group's investment in the robotics business in the Saemangeum region of North Jeolla Province.
