During a campaign stop in Gyeongnam, candidate Jeong Chung-rae directly targeted the past party defections of candidates Kim Min-seok and Song Young-gil, countering that he has never left the party. Meanwhile, candidate Kim Min-seok raised accountability issues regarding the leadership and election results of Jeong, who was the immediate past party leader.

Candidate Song Young-gil joined the fray by criticizing Jeong's 'no comment' stance during the time Lee Jae-myung was being criticized as president.
