LG Uplus to Transition Security Operations to AI by 2028

LG Uplus will transition its security operations to a fully AI-automated system by 2028. The company stated that through its SOAR-based integrated security operations framework, it responded to over 200,000 security events in 2025, reducing average processing time by more than 90% year-over-year.

The risk detection system for information leaks has also been strengthened. Utilizing AI to detect data leaks, the new system protects core information by analyzing anomalous access patterns rather than simply monitoring data views to identify potential internal breaches. The scope of detection has been expanded to core telecommunications data, including subscriber, device, and USIM identification information.

AI technology is also being applied to vulnerability management. Transitioning from periodic manual inspections to an AI-based continuous monitoring system, the company reviewed 150,000 externally exposed assets in 2025 and remedied 100% of detected vulnerabilities within an average of 28.8 days.
