President Lee Jae-myung Arrives in Brazil, Inspects Air Force Transport Aircraft

President Lee Jae-myung arrived in Brasilia, Brazil, on the 26th, after concluding his schedule in San Francisco, United States. At the invitation of Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, President Lee is on a state visit to Brazil from the 26th to the 29th. He will hold a summit meeting on the 27th and host a South Korea-Brazil business event in São Paulo.

After being welcomed by Brazilian officials at the Brasilia Air Force Base, President Lee personally inspected the new transport aircraft being introduced by the South Korean Air Force. During an inspection of the C-390 transport aircraft, manufactured by Brazil's Embraer, President Lee received a briefing from the Brazilian side regarding the aircraft's specifications and delivery schedule. On this occasion, President Lee stated, "This marks the beginning of our defense cooperation with Brazil, making it highly significant," and added, "Let's forge even more cooperation in the future."

Starting on the 29th, President Lee will make a two-day official visit to Chile to hold a summit meeting with Chilean President José Antonio Kast. Following his schedule in Chile, he will then embark on an official visit to Argentina from the 30th to the 1st of next month, where he will hold a summit meeting with President Javier Milei.
