KOREATECH Launches 24 Free Public AI Training Courses on STEP Platform

Korea University of Technology and Education's Online Lifelong Education Center is opening 24 public artificial intelligence (AI) training courses for free. These courses are offered to the general public through 'STEP', an online-based smart vocational training platform operated jointly with the Ministry of Employment and Labor. This training initiative was prepared to respond to labor market changes stemming from the government's 'Leap into Top 3 AI Nations' policy and industrial transformation.

The curriculum consists of a total of 24 courses opened between May and July, comprising 7 basic AI literacy courses and 17 industry-specific AI convergence job training courses, allowing for stepwise learning. Notably, practical, hands-on courses integrating generative AI into actual work tasks—such as 'PLC Programming Using Generative AI' and 'AI-based Advertising Targeting'—are included to enhance field applicability.

To strengthen training accessibility, sign language interpretation will be provided for all courses to assist the hearing impaired and other educationally vulnerable groups, contributing to the elimination of the digital divide. These courses are currently available for free on the STEP platform. The Online Lifelong Education Center stated that it plans to continuously expand practical, job-oriented content and strive to bridge the digital learning gap.
