Presidential Job Approval 45% vs 45%, a Neck-and-Neck Race... Positive Rating 44% → 45%

According to a Gallup Korea poll, President's job performance approval rating stands at 45%, while the disapproval rating is also 45%. In the party support survey conducted during the same period, the Democratic Party came in at 41%, the People Power Party at 25%, and those with no preferred party (independents) at 26%.

President Job Performance

45% of respondents said the President is doing a good job, while 45% said he is doing a bad job, marking identical figures for positive and negative evaluations. 11% withheld their opinion.

Party Support

Support for the Democratic Party was 41%, while support for the People Power Party was 25%. 26% of respondents said they do not support any particular party.

Economic Outlook

Regarding the economic situation over the next year, 36% predicted it would get worse, 32% predicted it would get better, and 27% predicted it would remain the same.

Comparison with Previous Survey

Compared to the survey conducted on August 13, 2026, the positive evaluation for the President’s job performance rose by 1 percentage point from 44% to 45%, while the negative evaluation fell by 1 percentage point from 46% to 45%. Those withholding opinion rose by 1 percentage point from 10% to 11%.

Party support levels remained unchanged from the previous survey, with the Democratic Party at 41% and the People Power Party at 25%. The number of independents decreased by 2 percentage points from 28% to 26%.

Compared to the survey conducted on July 23, 2026, the positive job performance rating saw a significant drop of 6 percentage points, falling from 51% to 45%. Conversely, the negative rating saw a sharp rise of 7 percentage points, increasing from 38% to 45%. The positive rating during this period showed a decline beyond the margin of error.

Over the same period, support for the Democratic Party fell by 3 percentage points from 44% to 41%, while support for the People Power Party rose by 2 percentage points from 23% to 25%. The number of independents decreased by 1 percentage point from 27% to 26%.
