xAI's 'Grok' Produces Broken Sentences... Outputs Gibberish Like 'Cheese, Planets'
An error has occurred in Grok where incomprehensible sentences are being generated. This AI chatbot, operated by xAI and built by Elon Musk's company, responded to user queries with text that broke both grammar and context, such as "mache it without and your day and two fo planets can practical and open cheese." Additionally, there were eyewitness reports that a link to a site related to reinforcement learning—the process through which AI learns—was mysteriously attached at the bottom of responses.
Users who reported experiencing the error shared a common factor: they were all using Grok Lite. According to reports, this bug appeared only in questions posed directly on Grok.com, while the Grok account integrated with X.com was said to be unaffected. Refreshing the session typically restored normal operation, but there were cases where the error message persisted even after multiple repetitions. Although the official status page indicated the service was incident-free, some users actually experienced errors.
Amidst this, Grok's official X account issued an explanation on Thursday morning. The account wrote, "That pure word salad is a rare temporary generation glitch. Try starting a new chat or regenerating. It usually resolves immediately. Sorry for the nonsense." xAI explained that this is a rare but temporarily occurring error.
