The stock price surged 629% on its first day of trading. Chinese humanoid robot company Unitree listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange, soaring as much as 629% from its IPO price during the session, with its market cap surpassing 70 trillion won at the close. The funds raised amounted to 6.1 billion yuan (approximately 1.3 trillion won).

Unitree went public backed by profitable earnings. Unitree recorded a profit in 2025. Humanoid robot shipments stood at 5,500 units, with revenue of 1.7 billion yuan (approximately 370 billion won) and an operating profit margin of 14.6%. In contrast, South Korea's leading humanoid robot company Rainbow Robotics recorded sales of around 34.1 billion won in 2025 and posted an operating loss. While simple comparison is difficult due to differences in product composition and business stages, the figures highlight the gap in mass production and market scale. Unitree's growth is attributed to China's tight component supply chain and government policies fostering the robot industry.

Unitree CEO Wang Xingxing stated that a 'ChatGPT moment' could arrive in the field of embodied intelligence within a few years. The funds raised from the listing will be invested in embodied intelligence AI and the advancement of robot technology. He expressed his intention to create a virtuous cycle by deploying more robots in the field to acquire data, using that data to improve AI, and subsequently building better robots.

Unitree's competitiveness stems not only from technology but also from pricing and mass production capabilities. Unitree's listing demonstrates that China is connecting robot finished goods and components, AI and data, manufacturing sites, and capital into a single ecosystem.
