August 29 Public Data Report: Onwa Peaches Rank No. 1

Peaches have defeated AI. Onwa, a food vendor, saw its 'King Peach' project raise approximately 15.7 million KRW on Wadiz crowdfunding, marking the highest sum in this period’s tally. This represents a gap of more than threefold compared to the AI content creation tool Ssongon (approx. 3.8 million KRW) or the travel sling bag Trubo (approx. 2.92 million KRW). When viewing the procurement, hiring, and funding records of 175 collected companies together, the operational scope of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) appears broader than anticipated.

Procurement: Report Card for Environment, Forestry, and Design Specialists

In the government procurement sector, regional specialized firms secured a series of contracts. Daehun Environment won environmental management projects, while Daekyung Forest Development and Sanrim Resources Development took on forestry allocations. Hanin Comprehensive Architects, Hanbit Engineering Architects, and Ace Stone Engineering secured contracts in design and engineering. Geumgang Geographic Information (spatial information), Nado Tourism (tourism), Innovation Safety Technology, and Jinu ATS also made their mark on the procurement market. A notable highlight was the participation of Kyobo Life Planet Life Insurance. The entry of a life insurer into public procurement suggests that demand has expanded beyond facilities and civil engineering to include financial services. It appears that sectors less susceptible to economic fluctuations—such as safety inspections, environmental maintenance, and design services—offer increasing opportunities for specialized SMEs.

Funding: Dominance of Food and Repeat Challenge Strategies

The landscape of crowdfunding is clear: food products are dominant. Following Onwa’s peaches, Yoo Hong-kun’s charcuterie project raised approximately 870,000 KRW, and Greenpick attempted market entry with limited summer peach and plum compotes. Tech products settled in the mid-range. Ssongon’s AI Shorts Production recorded 3.8 million KRW, Algorithim (a non-developer AI service builder) 1.8 million KRW, and Troiki’s Tenhead Massager 1.54 million KRW. The AI-based short-form production tool Sunsak Tool also began recruiting backers.

Patterns are also emerging. The daily goods brand LookatMe simultaneously ran campaigns for cooling boxers (approx. 490,000 KRW), silicone body pads (approx. 500,000 KRW), and wrist-mounted smartphone holders (approx. 450,000 KRW). Accessory firm S.M.S also played a two-pronged game with a fast charger and a compression pouch. This approach—a demand-verified launch where multiple products are deployed even with small amounts to pre-check market reaction—is being assessed as a standard strategy taking root among small-scale brands.

Hiring: Priority on Overseas Production and R&D Personnel

Industry directions are plainly visible in job postings. Renew People concentrated its hiring on technical and manufacturing roles, such as Global Game Master (GM), ITS Research Center Director, Overseas Sales Team Head for automotive and defense PCBs, and a Resident General Manager for its Vietnam production plant. Similarly, Raon Search sought environmental health (SHE) personnel for an advanced chemical company, while Background looked for quality control (QC) talent for a KOSDAQ-listed chemical materials firm. Recruitment for year-end tax settlement module developers (Human Consulting Group) and automatic control programmers (JSE) demonstrates the underlying demand for software. The ongoing recruitment for academy administration and instructors, as well as freelance trainers, suggests steady demand for personnel in the education and lifestyle service sectors.

Outlook: Verified Demand Creates the Next Phase

There are shadows within the records as well. Some companies have faced sanctions from the Fair Trade Commission or have been involved in negative issues. Nevertheless, the core of this analysis lies in the movement of these three indicators together. Throughout the records, a virtuous cycle is detected: brands that verified demand through funding build stable revenue through procurement and bolster execution power through hiring.

Brands that gauged consumer reaction with their initial Wadiz reveal are highly likely to return with new products. The surge in agricultural funding is interpreted as a signal that the 'harvest pre-order' model is taking hold. While individual AI tools remain around the 2 million KRW mark, the confirmation of multiple projects suggests an expanding base. The triple structure—where procurement safeguards the foundation, hiring adds strength, and funding reduces the risk of new product failure—has a high probability of becoming the fundamental equation for the SME ecosystem in the second half of the year.
