Startup Claims Breakthrough in Reversing Blood Aging with "Rejuvenation" Drug

A "rejuvenation injection" that reverses blood aging has emerged. U.S. startup Generation Lab has introduced an injectable drug called '1 Generation,' a combination of two existing medications, claiming it can make human blood young again. According to a report by MIT Technology Review on the 27th, the drug's principle is to block the spread of aging throughout the body via blood flow and revive self-healing regenerative functions, thereby restoring health and youth to various tissues.

The company has proposed offering access to the drug to a 'private cohort' composed of a few influencers who trust scientific judgment, stating it will be administered under close medical supervision. Alina Su, the 26-year-old CEO, mentioned in a conference call that there is a long waiting list, including celebrities.

These claims are rooted in scientific research. Scientific founder Irina Conboy is known for her 'parabiosis' studies, which connect the circulatory systems of aged and young animals. This technique is one of the few methods proven to actually rejuvenate old animals, but since humans cannot be attached to a young person's bloodstream for life, the research community has been seeking alternatives that achieve the same effect without blood exchange. Conboy claims the combination of the two drugs is the answer.

However, no proven case of a drug that reverses aging has ever been demonstrated. The company has also not yet disclosed the identities of the two drugs used in the injection.
