Kyungnam University Launches Physical AX Center for Manufacturing AI Transformation
Kyungnam University has launched the 'Kyungnam Physical AX Research Cooperation Center' in collaboration with cloud specialist Megazone to facilitate AI transformation in manufacturing. The center will research and validate Physical AX technologies applicable in industrial settings by connecting factory equipment and process data with AI. It aims to combine Megazone's AI and cloud technologies with the university's manufacturing digital transformation (DX) education and research capabilities to support the technological needs of local manufacturing firms.
In March, Kyungnam University signed agreements with 40 organizations and was selected as the host institution for a 32 billion won next-generation Physical AI demonstration project.
The center plans to focus on enhancing the practical skills of incumbent workers and students through customized projects reflecting corporate demand and hands-on cloud training. Moving forward, Kyungnam University intends to strengthen field-oriented AI education through the center to cultivate and supply the practical experts required by local manufacturing companies.
