Korea District Heating Corp. Partners with LG Uplus to Enhance Heating Safety Management with AI Technology
Korea District Heating Corporation (KDH) is collaborating with LG Uplus to advance its district energy safety management system by leveraging AIoT (Artificial Intelligence of Things) technology. The two companies signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) at an event held on August 27th at LG Uplus's headquarters in Yongsan-gu, Seoul. Jeong Nam-seong, Head of KDH's Construction Division, and Kwon Yong-hyun, Head of LG Uplus's Enterprise Division, were in attendance.
This partnership aims to expand safety management beyond the current focus on underground heat transport pipes to include key ground-based heat source facilities. The companies will establish a predictive maintenance-focused safety management system that detects early signs of equipment anomalies by analyzing combined AI and IoT sensor data.
Furthermore, both companies plan to actively engage in joint technology development to address safety blind spots in district energy supply sites.
