September 4 Jobs Market Report: Rolex Seeks a Deputy Store Manager

Luxury Retail Stands at the Forefront of Hiring

Rolex is seeking the talent to open the doors of its first standalone flagship store in South Korea. A listing posted by recruitment agency Humanist Inc. bundles a deputy store manager, sales associates, and office support (OA) staff into a single posting. The same agency is simultaneously running searches for Louis Vuitton Korea sales associates across Seoul, Gyeonggi Province and the rest of the country, along with assistant managers and staff for Chaumet and Fred, the LVMH group's jewelry brands. Aggregate the job postings of dozens of companies and luxury retail forms the thickest block of hiring; the approach of filling ranks from deputy manager down to entry level in one sweep reads as a bid to match staffing with the pace of store expansion.

Another distinguishing feature is that postings routed through recruitment agency and headhunting channels formed the core of the volume. Alongside Humanist, Renew People, Laon Search, ManpowerSearch, Good Career, Maverick Consulting and HR4U, among others, scouted talent on behalf of client companies. The structure of entrusting hiring to proven intermediaries rather than opening direct channels of one's own is a market pattern that grows more distinct as demand for experienced professionals expands.

Experienced-Hire Searches That Spell Out Rank Stand Out

A closer look at the wording shows many experienced hires that specify rank outright. Laon Search advertised an experienced safety, health and environment (SHE) professional at an advanced chemicals manufacturer at the assistant manager level, and sales staff at a cosmetics ingredients maker from manager to senior manager. Good Career set wide eligibility — manager through department head — for a data center development implementation PM, and assistant manager through senior manager for electrical design of switchgear. Senior openings also appeared, including an auto parts sales chief (senior manager to director level), a compliance team head at a foreign insurer, and a finance and accounting director at a Gangnam-based company. One interpretation: the need to secure talent able to contribute immediately has established itself as the central axis of the job-switching market.

Language requirements have sharpened as well. Renew People sought an English-capable global game master (GM) and a team head for overseas sales of automotive-electronics and defense printed circuit boards (PCBs), while HR Global Network looked for trade administration staff. A dermatology clinic near Yongsan Station recruited skincare therapists and nursing assistants able to communicate in English, regardless of gender. From gaming and defense to trade and healthcare services, language skills are hardening into a baseline qualification in workplaces serving customers across borders.

Space, Beauty and Security Redraw the Industry Map

A contest to get an early grip on talent in strategic future industries is also detectable. V Aerospace, with 2026 in its sights, is hiring research and development staff in Incheon and Daejeon and even sought an executive assistant. As space and aerospace rises as a national strategic industry, the company is quickening its staffing at each research outpost. A quality control (QC) hire at a listed advanced chemical materials maker was confirmed as well. In beauty, ManpowerSearch recruited a chief marketing officer (CMO) and an e-commerce leader at the same time for a clean, vegan beauty brand, and a cosmetics contract manufacturing (ODM/OEM) specialist followed with a planning hire. Add a fashion brand's search for a video designer, and online sales and content marketing are being refilled starting from the top of the organization.

Digital infrastructure has likewise become an axis of job creation. Human Consulting Group repeatedly recruited developers for payroll processing systems, including a year-end tax settlement module; JSE sought an automatic control programmer; and Maverick Consulting looked for a cybersecurity chief. Taken together with the data center development PM hire, security and data infrastructure are settling in as the new backbone of the hiring market.

Regional Hubs Stir Amid the Pull Toward the Capital Region

Geographically, hiring is unmistakably concentrated in the capital region, centered on Seoul's Gangnam, Songpa and Yongsan districts. Even so, locally anchored hiring shows up across the map: aerospace R&D in Incheon and Daejeon, delivery app customer center agents in Busan, finance and accounting on Jeju, a freelance trainer in Changwon, and an early-childhood music instructor in Cheongju. Private academies continued to recruit middle school math instructors and education administration staff, while financial services listings — including agents for a cryptocurrency exchange — kept coming. It is a picture of employment laid down thin but wide.

From the second half of this year through 2026, the hiring landscape looks set to remain centered on experienced professionals. Store expansion on the back of recovering luxury consumption, aerospace development schedules, and e-commerce growth are cited as the key variables pulling labor demand. The flow of ever more granular conditions — rank, language proficiency — and rising headhunting through specialized intermediaries is a sign that the job market has entered a renewed phase of competition for talent.
