September 6 Public Data Report: Ongwa at 15.7 Million Won
A single crowdfunding campaign for king peaches pulled in 15.7 million won.
That is the number left behind by Ongwa, an agricultural produce project listed on Wadiz. Even scanning across procurement contracts, job postings, and crowdfunding totals from some 170 small and mid-sized Korean companies, it is the achievement that registers first. The verdict from public data at large is unambiguous: companies are pushing public-sector orders, talent acquisition, and direct-to-consumer sales all at the same time.
Procurement Market: Environment, Forestry, and Design Take Center Stage
Government procurement records read like a roll call of service-based SMEs. Environmental management firms such as Daehun Environment, Neulpum E&C, and G&B Planning landed contracts in quick succession. Daekyung Forest Development and Forest Resource Development Co. broke ground on orders in the forestry field, a development analysts attribute directly to the policy push behind growing carbon-neutral budgets and state forest management demand.
The design and engineering roster runs deep as well. Hanin General Architects Office Co., Hanbit Engineering Architects Office, and Aston Engineering each secured contracts. Technology-driven firms such as Jinwoo ATS, Geumgang Geographic Information, Wyble, and Hyeoksin Safety Technology also made the list. Kyobo LifePlanet Life Insurance and Namdo Tourism Co. stretched the field's spectrum into finance and tourism. The data mirrors, in real time, public demand migrating from manufacturing toward environmental, safety, and information-technology services. And since recurring service engagements rather than one-off contracts can translate into repeat revenue, it is worth investors' attention, too.
A Global Trajectory Etched in Job Postings
The job market's compass pointed overseas. RenewPeople Co. rolled out postings one after another: an expatriate executive to oversee a production plant in Vietnam, a team lead for overseas sales of PCBs (printed circuit boards) for defense electronics, and a global game operations specialist. The reshaping of manufacturing's production base toward Southeast Asia, in other words, is spilling over into hiring demand.
The door to technical roles swung wide open too. Human Consulting Group sought a payroll system developer to handle year-end tax settlement features, while JSI Co. hunted for an automation control programmer. In advanced chemicals, Raon Search Co. recruited an experienced environmental health (SHE) professional, and Background Co. brought on quality control (QC) staff. Demand for education and lifestyle services held steady as well, with ShopMusic posting for a toddler music instructor and Saenggak Academy seeking a secondary school math teacher. It reads as a signal that industries across the board have entered a contest to lock up skilled talent.
Crowdfunding: Food and AI Split the Board
The twin pillars of Wadiz's fundraising ledger were food and AI. Ongwa's king peaches led the pack outright at 15.7 million won. Yoo Hyung-gon's charcuterie (processed meat products) project also crossed 870,000 won. The old rule that food, verified by the palate, opens backers' wallets widest was confirmed yet again.
AI tools were no less formidable. Ssokon's AI content production service raised 3.8 million won, and Algoricum's AI service builder for non-developers piled up 1.79 million won. SunsakTool's AI short-form video creation tool also earned a spot on the list on the strength of backer support. In lifestyle goods, Truvo's anti-theft travel sling bag logged 2.92 million won and Troika's TenHead massager 1.53 million won. Fashion brand LOOK AT ME ran projects back to back: cooling boxer briefs at 490,000 won, silicone body shower pads at 500,000 won, and a wrist-mounted smartphone holder at 450,000 won.
Crowdfunding is settling into place not as a one-off event but as a repeatable channel for market validation.
An Outlook With the Challenges Tucked Away
This is not pure optimism. A few of the companies analyzed were sanctioned by the Fair Trade Commission, and others carried confirmed issues of impropriety. Even so, none of it comes close to the scale needed to overturn the broad currents running through procurement, hiring, and funding.
Sketching the picture ahead is not difficult. So long as environment and forestry budgets hold, public-sector orders for service-based SMEs are expected to continue. Hiring for overseas production and development roles also looks set to ride an upward trend. In the funding market, AI tools are expected to claim a growing share alongside food's strength. Benjamin Disraeli located the secret of success in being ready when the opportunity arrived. These records, of companies boring into the public market and direct consumer sales at the same time, read as proof that such preparation is in full swing.
