Police Book Woman in Her 50s for Wiretapping Cha Eun-woo

On the 18th, the Seoul Yongsan Police Station announced it had booked and was questioning a woman in her 50s, identified only as A, on suspicion of wiretapping singer and actor Cha Eun-woo (violation of the Communications Privacy Act).

A is accused of installing wiretapping devices under a table at a cafe in Yongsan District, Seoul, on two occasions last month to eavesdrop on conversations between Cha and an acquaintance. She was caught by police on the 30th of last month while retrieving the devices.

Police are conducting a forensic analysis of A's mobile phone to determine whether she had accomplices and how she obtained the devices.
