Ulsan Mayor Kim Sang-wook's assets total 5.02 billion won, tops among metropolitan mayors

Ulsan Mayor Kim Sang-wook was found on the 29th to hold the largest assets, worth 5.02 billion won (5,024,590,000 won), among metropolitan government heads newly elected in this year's local elections. The Government Public Officials Ethics Committee publicly disclosed in the official gazette on the 29th the asset registration details of 563 public officials newly elected in the June 3 local elections, including metropolitan and local government heads, education superintendents, and metropolitan council members. In Ulsan, a total of 14 people were subject to disclosure, including the mayor, the education superintendent, the heads of Nam, Dong, and Buk districts, and city council members.

Mayor Kim's assets increased by 1.26 billion won (33.69%) from the 3.75 billion won (3,758,510,000 won) he reported when resigning his National Assembly seat to run in the mayoral election, an increase attributed mainly to rising fund valuations.

Ulsan city council member Park Yong-geol reported 9.65 billion won (9,654,190,000 won) in buildings, land, a gas station, deposits, and other assets in the names of himself, his spouse, and his children, the largest among the 14 disclosure subjects in Ulsan. He ranks fifth among metropolitan council members nationwide.

Ulsan Education Superintendent Jo Yong-sik reported 808.68 million won in land, buildings, deposits, and other assets in the names of himself, his spouse, and his mother, ranking eighth among the nine education superintendents subject to asset disclosure.
