October 5 Public Data Report: Daehun Environment's Procurement Gambit
Procurement, Hiring, and Funding Map Out Business Activity
Public data from 175 companies revealed large volumes of activity across procurement, hiring, and crowdfunding. As Robert Collier said, success is not built overnight—companies' day-to-day activities are accumulating into a single trend. Looking at the 206 collected data points by category, the survival strategies of small and mid-sized enterprises (SMEs) come into sharp focus.
In the government procurement arena, multiple contracts were confirmed for Daehun Environment, GN B Planning Co., Ltd., and Neulpum E&C Co., Ltd., as well as Daekyung Forest Development, Hanin Architects & Engineers Co., Ltd., and Namdo Tourism LLC. Jinwoo ATS Co., Ltd., Forest Resources Development LLC, Geumgang Geoinformation Co., Ltd., and Hanbit Engineering Architects Co., Ltd. also made the procurement award list. Looking at these companies, industries directly tied to public infrastructure—environment, forestry, architectural design, and geospatial information—account for the majority. Entry from the insurance and technology services sectors also stands out, including Kyobo Lifeplanet Life Insurance Co., Acestone Engineering Co., Yible Co., Hyuksin Safety Technology Co., and Saeroi Co.
Unlike the private market, government procurement offers reliable payment collection, serving as a breakwater for SME cash flow. The fact that SMEs in construction, engineering, and environmental fields are actively knocking on the public market's door is interpreted as a practical judgment to secure this kind of stability.
What the Job Market Reveals About Industry Direction
In job postings, technology, education, and manufacturing form a triangle. Renew People Co., Ltd. is simultaneously recruiting for multiple positions: a global game GM, an R&D head at an ITS company, a team lead for overseas sales of automotive-defense PCBs, and an expatriate overseer of a Vietnamese production plant. The fact that a single talent agency spans gaming, defense, and overseas production shows that boundaries between industries are blurring.
The education sector is also active. Shop Music is hiring a preschool music instructor at its Cheongju branch, while SKE English Academy and Saenggak Academy are each seeking education administrators and middle school math instructors. Adding to this, Human Consulting Group is recruiting a year-end tax settlement module developer and JSI Co., Ltd. is hiring an automation control programmer—confirming that demand for developers spans all industries.
Particularly noteworthy are overseas-linked roles. Both the Vietnamese plant expatriate position and the overseas sales team lead for automotive-defense PCBs directly target global markets. This reads as a signal that SME hiring has entered a phase of overseas business expansion beyond domestic demand. Raon Search Co. seeking an experienced environment, health and safety professional at the associate level for a specialty chemicals manufacturer, and Background Co. seeking a quality QC specialist for a KOSDAQ-listed company, also show that ESG and quality management have become essential areas of recruitment.
Crowdfunding: A Market Tested by Consumers First
On crowdfunding platforms like Wadiz, food, lifestyle products, and AI tools all delivered solid fundraising results. In the food category, Ongwa's King Peach project raised about 15.7 million won, while Yuhyeonggon's charcuterie funding recorded 871,000 won. Greenpick's summer-limited peach and plum compote stood at 146,000 won, still in its early stages.
Lifestyle products showed strength as well. Truvo's anti-theft travel sling bag raised about 2.92 million won, while LOOK AT ME ran multiple projects simultaneously—a cooling-effect boxer briefs campaign at 492,000 won, a silicone body shower pad at 502,500 won, and a wrist-mounted smartphone holder at 454,000 won—executing a brand-level funding strategy. Troiky's Ten Head Massager recorded about 1.53 million won, and SMS Co., Ltd.'s compression pouch reached 364,700 won.
The rise of service-based tech funding also stands out. Sokon's AI content production raised about 3.8 million won, while Algorixm's AI service builder for non-developers gathered about 1.79 million won. The successive emergence of tools like Sukak Tool's AI short-form maker, which lets users create output without editing knowledge, means generative AI has crossed over into the mainstream of the consumer market.
The essence of crowdfunding is demand validation rather than fundraising. This structure—verifying market viability through consumers' wallets before mass production—is a way of realizing, through data, Michael LeBoeuf's proposition that "a satisfied customer is the best business strategy." Small contributions of around 50,000 won accumulate from hundreds to thousands of backers, determining a product's fate.
Balanced Data Shows the Strength of Small and Mid-Sized Businesses
While procurement, hiring, and funding dominate the overall data, some cases were also confirmed in which companies faced Fair Trade Commission sanctions or were mentioned in fraud-related issues. However, these make up only a small share of the total, and the dominant trend can be summarized as stable entry into the public market, workforce acquisition, and direct consumer validation.
Taken together, the three categories complement one another. Procurement contracts support cash flow, hiring secures growth momentum, and crowdfunding pre-checks the market viability of new products. While no single company leverages all three axes, the data plainly etches out SMEs' risk-diversification strategy when viewed across the industry as a whole.
Funding competition for AI-powered tools is expected to intensify further, as shown by the results of Sokon, Algorixm, and Sukak Tool. In the job market, demand for overseas roles and developer positions is also projected to expand. In the environmental, forestry, and engineering sectors—where the threshold to the procurement market is relatively low—more companies are expected to use public-sector track records as a springboard to expand into the private market. Viewed as achievements built from repeated small efforts, this data presents a healthy snapshot of the SME ecosystem.
