POSCO DX invests 2 billion won in AI startup to introduce work-focused AI agents
POSCO DX has invested 2 billion won (approximately $1.5 million) in AI startup Enhance, with the goal of acquiring AI agent technology that can handle work tasks on its behalf. POSCO DX announced that it invested in Enhance through the 'POSCO DX Corporate Venture Capital (CVC) New Technology Investment Fund,' established jointly with POSCO Technology Investment, and signed a business agreement to build AI agents specialized in task execution. Enhance is the developer of 'Agent OS,' an enterprise AI operating system built on ontology — a technology that maps a company's actual structure and data relationships into software.
POSCO DX is accelerating its AI transformation (AX) using this technology. A long-standing challenge in AX efforts has been that data scattered across separate systems makes it difficult for AI to grasp a company's overall operations. Through this validation, POSCO DX aims to convert tacit knowledge — such as experienced workers' expertise, approaches to handling exceptions, and decision-making criteria — into data assets and reflect them in its AI agents.
Building on this agreement, POSCO Group plans to expand ontology-based agentic AI technology across industrial sites, including production, facilities, and logistics. By combining its sector-specific experience and know-how with Enhance's Agent OS, the group intends to gradually develop industry-specific AI solutions for steel, logistics, and other fields. According to market research firm MarketsandMarkets, the enterprise agentic AI market is projected to grow at an annual rate of more than 47%, reaching approximately $46 billion (about 61.8 trillion won) by 2030.
POSCO DX has previously made strategic investments in companies including a humanoid robotics firm and a domestic AI semiconductor startup. A POSCO DX official said, "Securing ontology-based agentic AI capabilities that understand not only work knowledge but also tacit know-how will serve as momentum to accelerate the company's AX competitiveness," adding, "We will combine Enhance's technological strength with POSCO DX's industrial domain expertise to create new customer value."
