Dinotisia Unveils AI Search Accelerator VDPU
Dinotisia will unveil its AI data search accelerator 'VDPU' and an accelerator card at SEDEX 2026 (the 28th Korea Semiconductor Exhibition). The event runs from October 14 to 16 at COEX in Seoul. VDPU is a chip that helps AI quickly find the information it needs within massive datasets while also reducing the server and operating costs of search.
Founded in 2023, Dinotisia is a specialized company that develops AI infrastructure and semiconductors in tandem. Through its proprietary vector database 'C-Hols' and other offerings, it helps enterprises put their data to use in AI services.
Vector search is a technology that finds information relevant to a user's query by comparing 'vectors' — numerical representations of the features of multimodal data such as documents and images. It is used by AI agents to locate and draw on materials needed for their tasks or the content of previous conversations. However, as data volumes and search requests grow, the computations and memory accesses required increase as well, potentially causing response delays.
VDPU is designed to handle the computations and data accesses needed for this search process on dedicated hardware. With a computational architecture and memory utilization scheme optimized for vector search, it aims to speed up search processing while reducing the number of servers required, as well as deployment and operating costs and installation footprint.
