Apple targets the home market with $299 smart display 'HomeView'

Apple has made a full-scale push into the home market. At its 'Welcome Home' event on October 13, the company unveiled 'HomeView,' a $299 smart display.

HomeView features a 7-inch touchscreen and serves as a control center for the smart home, allowing users to manage thermostats, lights, and connected devices from a single screen.

However, some key AI features require compatible Apple devices, meaning unlocking the full potential of Apple's connected home ecosystem could come at an additional cost — a challenge that remains.
