Prime Minister Han Sung-sook said on the 16th that the State Council members, including the Prime Minister, fully understand the intent of live broadcasting Cabinet meetings, while drawing a line at reports that some ministers had suggested narrowing the scope of the broadcasts, saying they were not true. "Attendees of the Cabinet meeting may feel some pressure to speak carefully, lest they convey inaccurate information, but the positive effects — such as becoming more immersed in their work and feeling a greater sense of responsibility through this process — will be greater," Han said.

She added, "We will strive to make the Cabinet meeting function as a forum that transparently discloses government policy to the public and one that harnesses the collective wisdom of ministers from all ministries."

President Lee Jae-myung also posted on X the same day under the title "On the controversy over opening Cabinet meetings to the public." "I cannot agree with some claims that Cabinet meetings should be entirely closed to the public," he said, adding, "The minutes of Cabinet meetings have already been made public, and openness is the principle for all administration, including state affairs." This confirmed the government leadership's plan to maintain the live broadcasts.
