The US administration has fully ousted Chinese AI company DeepSeek from the federal government. Bloomberg and Reuters reported that the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) published such guidance on the Federal Register website on Monday (local time).

Under the order, based on the Cybersecurity Act, federal agencies must remove DeepSeek products from their IT systems, and their use is banned outright.

DHS warned that DeepSeek could serve as "multiple security threat pathways," and that if government employees or vendors use the product, sensitive data could be transferred to China. It also pointed out the possibility that DeepSeek could contain malicious code or other security vulnerabilities.
