Balanced Activity Among SMEs Seen in Public Data

A total of 206 public data records offer a vivid snapshot of business activity across 175 companies. The relatively even distribution across categories such as government procurement, hiring, and crowdfunding shows that companies are simultaneously targeting both public and private markets.

In the government procurement sector, numerous companies were recorded as participants, including Daehun Environment, GNb Planning Co., Daekyung Forest Development, Hanin Comprehensive Architects & Engineers, Jinwoo ATS Co., Kyobo Lifeplanet Life Insurance Co., and Eastone Engineering Co. Contracts made through the Public Procurement Service's Nara Market system carry great significance in that they provide small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with a stable revenue base.

Industry-wise, the data spanned a wide range of fields, including environment, forestry, architectural design, tourism, geographic information, life insurance, and safety technology. This shows that public demand is broadly distributed rather than concentrated in specific industries. In other words, the public procurement market functions as an open channel for SMEs across the board.

Notable Demand for Technical and Global Talent in the Job Market

Analysis of job postings revealed clear demand for technical professionals and candidates with global capabilities. RenewPeople Co. posted multiple positions at once—including global game GM, head of research at an ITS company, overseas sales team leader for defense PCBs, and a seconded manager overseeing a Vietnamese production plant—signaling its determination to expand overseas.

Human Consulting Group is looking for a year-end tax settlement module developer, while JS E Co. seeks an automatic control programmer. Continued hiring in software and engineering roles reflects the growing convergence of manufacturing and IT in the labor market.

The education and services sectors are also active. ShopMusic is recruiting an early childhood music instructor at its Cheongju branch, while SKE English Academy and Saenggak Academy have posted openings for administrative staff and math instructors. Uzfit's Changwon location announced a search for freelance trainers. Raon Search Co. and Background Co. are seeking experienced professionals and quality control staff in advanced chemicals, confirming demand for manufacturing talent as well.

Food, AI, and Lifestyle Products Deliver Steady Results in Crowdfunding

On crowdfunding platforms such as Wadiz, a wide range of products—from food to AI services—ran fundraising campaigns. In the livestock and agricultural food category, On & King's King Peach project raised over 15.7 million won, posting the most standout performance of any single project. Yu Hyeong-gon's charcuterie project, built on a Seoul local food concept, also raised over 870,000 won.

In technology and lifestyle products, Truvo's anti-theft travel sling bag raised over 2.92 million won, while SokOn's AI content production project raised over 3.8 million won. Algorixm's AI service builder for non-developers also secured over 1.79 million won in support. Troykey's Ten Head massager recorded over 1.53 million won.

In fashion and accessories, LOOK AT ME rolled out multiple projects in succession—including cooling boxer briefs, silicone body shower pads, and a wrist-mounted smartphone holder—each raising roughly 450,000 to 500,000 won. SMS Co. also pursued a multi-product strategy across brands with a QI2 fast charger and an ultra-light compression pouch, among others.

The gaps in funding amounts are substantial, with tens-fold differences between top and bottom projects. This demonstrates crowdfunding's role as a tool for consumer validation. Products with strong market reception can secure an early sales base, while those that fall short can use the process to gauge market viability before launch.

Lessons from Reading the SME Ecosystem Through Data

Taken together, the data clearly show that SMEs are diversifying their revenue streams. Their strategy can be summarized as a triple play: maintaining the stable channel of public procurement while using crowdfunding for market validation, and securing growth engines through hiring.

The prevalence of overseas sales and secondment positions in job postings suggests that SMEs' global expansion is picking up pace. The success of several AI-related crowdfunding campaigns also shows how quickly technology trends are spreading to the consumer market.

That said, some companies were found to have faced sanctions from the Fair Trade Commission or been named in fraud-related issues. This underscores that public data–based company analysis reveals not only performance metrics but also the need for risk management.

Going forward, SME activity is expected to become even more segmented around integrated strategies spanning public and private markets. In particular, hiring and investment are likely to concentrate on companies equipped with AI capabilities and global business expertise. Regular tracking of public data could serve as an early indicator for assessing the health and growth potential of individual companies.
