Samsung Internet on PC Shows Mobile View for CBC News — Fix Underway

A phenomenon persists in which accessing CBC News via the Samsung Internet browser on a PC displays the mobile version of the site instead of the desktop version. The issue is that the mobile view is shown even in a PC environment when the CBC News site is opened in Samsung Internet, and it has been identified as a browser compatibility problem that hinders users from viewing articles normally.

The issue was first raised on September 28. At that time, a request for improvement and a reply, titled "Samsung Internet mobile view display issue," was sent to CBC News, and Jung Hye-in, the staff member in charge, responded with an email providing instructions on how to resolve it. On October 16, a follow-up inquiry about the same phenomenon was received, and Jung once again provided instructions via email.

The fact that a follow-up inquiry was filed just 18 days after the initial guidance suggests that the previously provided solution may not have actually resolved the problem. Whether CBC News now displays properly in Samsung Internet on PC remains to be confirmed going forward.
