Arrest Warrant Issued for Woman in Her 30s Who Stabbed Father with Weapon

The Seoul Eastern District Court issued an arrest warrant on the afternoon of the 24th for a woman in her 30s accused of aggravated assault against an ascendant for stabbing her father with a weapon in Gangdong-gu, Seoul.

Ms. A is charged with aggravated assault against an ascendant for stabbing her father, a man in his 60s, with a weapon at their home in Gangdong-gu, Seoul, at around 8 p.m. on the 21st. During questioning by police, Ms. A stated that she committed the crime out of anger while arguing with her father.

The father, the victim, reported the incident himself and went outside the building, where he was taken by paramedics. He is reported to have suffered no life-threatening injuries.

Police who responded to the scene arrested Ms. A on the spot and applied for an arrest warrant on the 22nd. Judge Lee Ha-rim of the Seoul Eastern District Court issued the warrant after a pre-detention suspect interrogation (warrant validity review), citing concerns that she might flee.
