President Lee Jae-myung hosted a dinner at the Blue House on the 28th, inviting senior lawmakers of the Democratic Party with five or more terms, and urged them to lend their strength to unity and cooperation as the governing party. It was the first dinner with senior Democratic Party lawmakers held since he took office.

The dinner was attended by Rep. Song Young-gil (six terms) and Reps. Kim Tae-nyeon, Park Ji-won, Ahn Gyu-baek, Woo Won-shik, Yoon Ho-jung, Lee In-young, Chung Dong-young, and Jung Sung-ho (all five terms), while Chief of Staff to the President Im Kwang-hyun and Senior Secretary for Political Affairs Hong Young-pyo joined from the Blue House.

At the dinner, President Lee said that as difficulties in people's lives mount, the party and the Blue House must communicate closely to find practical solutions, and pledged to reflect the senior lawmakers' experience and wisdom in state affairs. He emphasized that the harder the times for the people, the more important the role of the governing party becomes, and that the party's words and actions must show responsible conduct that meets the public's expectations.
