영국, 자체 개발 장거리 미사일 개발 가속화
영국이 기존 '스톰섀도' 순항 미사일보다 생산 비용이 낮고 미국 부품에 의존하지 않는 장거리 미사일 개발에 속도를 내고 있습니다. 20일(현지시간) 일간 더타임스와 텔레그래프 등에 따르면 영국 국방부는 '브레이크스톱 프로젝트'로 개발 중인 미사일 3종에 대해 최근 발사 시험을 진행했습니다. 영국 국방부는 프로젝트에 참여한 스톰섀도 생산 기업 등 방산 기업 3곳에 1기당 40만파운드(약 8억1천만원) 비용으로 225㎏ 탄두를 장착하고 500㎞ 거리의 표적을 타격할 수 있는 장거리 미사일을 요구했습니다.
