Amid a wait-and-see mood in which U.S. large caps fluctuated slightly, Meta surged 4.5%, showing relative strength.

As of September 25, 2026, major global large caps formed a narrow trading range, with most moves limited to within ±0.05% from the previous session. However, looking at individual stocks, Meta Platforms' rise from 744.10 won to 777.59 won was the most notable movement, while Intel also climbed nearly 4% from 122.60 won to 127.39 won. Oracle, by contrast, slipped 0.03% for a modestly weaker performance.

As the table shows, the top of the market-cap rankings — NVIDIA at 5.42 trillion won, Apple at 4.90 trillion won, and Alphabet at 4.19 trillion won — was dominated by tech megacaps that kept the index steady. With little difference in the magnitude of moves between gainers and decliners, the market as a whole was interpreted as a directionless, wait-and-see session.

Sector Flows and Drivers

In the semiconductor sector, Intel's EPS growth rate of 9,865.5% and its price rise to 127.39 won stood out. That said, the absence of a P/E ratio for Intel means a price-to-earnings ratio cannot be calculated on an operating-profit basis under accounting rules, and its earnings improvement will need continued verification. AMD, with an EPS growth rate of 16,435.6%, shows a substantial fundamental improvement, though a P/E of 160.1 remains a burden.

Meta's gain, as its 777.59 won price suggests, reflects short-term momentum. However, with an EPS growth rate of -256.0%, the key question is whether it will face a correction due to its divergence from earnings. Tesla, too, with an EPS growth rate of -4,709.0% and a P/E of 343.6, ranks among the stocks with the heaviest valuation burdens.

Oracle fell 0.03% on the day, closing at 139.54 won with a market cap of 0.42 trillion won. Its declines were limited, given a P/E of 21.9 that is relatively low compared with peer software and cloud companies.

Valuation Comparison and Investment Implications

Steady assets formed the undervalued group: Berkshire Hathaway at a P/E of 12.7, Exxon Mobil at 20.9, and JPMorgan at 14.5. By contrast, Eli Lilly at a P/E of 39.7, Broadcom at 44.6, and ASML at 59.2 reflect priced-in growth premiums. Alphabet, with a P/E of 17.2 and an EPS growth rate of 3,419.4%, was analyzed as having the most balanced growth-to-valuation expectations among large-cap tech stocks.

In memory chips, Micron, with a P/E of 24.5 and a share price of 1,080.53 won, shows no significant gap with NVIDIA's P/E of 28.4. Both stocks can be seen as trading in reasonable valuation ranges amid the expanding AI demand cycle.

Overall, the range-bound trading with reduced volatility is read as a transitional phase of searching for the next direction. Coming as the domestic market digests global market events following the Chuseok holidays, the narrow swings in U.S. large caps show investors holding back ahead of earnings season and macro variables.

If the gains in Meta and Intel translate into earnings improvement, a leadership rotation within the sector is possible. However, given the high-valuation burdens of stocks with negative EPS growth rates, selective stock picking is expected to be the core of investment strategy going forward.
