Mother in Her 30s Arrested on Suspicion of Killing Daughter, Disposing of Body

A mother in her 30s and her accomplice were arrested by police four years after allegedly abusing her three-year-old daughter to death and disposing of the body. The Gyeonggi Siheung Police are investigating mother A for child abuse resulting in death, and B for body abandonment. Police made emergency arrests of A and B around 9:30 PM on March 16 at a lodging facility in Siheung City. The body of girl C was discovered and excavated in a mountain area in Ansan City. Arrest warrants were subsequently applied for both individuals on the 18th.

The case surfaced after school officials became suspicious that C, who would have been of elementary school age in 2024, was not attending school and reported it to the police.

A is suspected of abusing her biological daughter, C, who was 3 years old at the time, to death at their home in Siheung City, Gyeonggi Province, in February 2020. B, who was in a romantic relationship with A at the time, is not C's biological father and is accused of abandoning C's body in a mountain area in Danwon-gu, Ansan City.

It was confirmed that A deceived B's nephew, making him impersonate C, to attend the elementary school's preliminary assembly and entrance ceremony in an attempt to conceal the crime.
