Lawmaker Lee Jae-kwan Hosts Forum for Win-Win Development in Distribution, Manufacturing Sectors

Democratic Party lawmaker Lee Jae-kwan will hold a 'Meeting for Institutional Improvement for Win-Win Development of Distribution and Manufacturing Industries' on the 24th at 10 AM in Meeting Room 10 of the National Assembly Members' Office Building. The meeting is jointly hosted by lawmakers Park Beom-kye, Lee Jeong-moon, Kim Nam-geun, Kwon Hyang-yeop, Oh Se-hee, and Jung Jin-wook, and organized by the Korea Win-Win Manufacturing Federation. Recently, the distribution industry has been aggressively expanding its private brand (PB) products.

While there is an expectation that this could bring new sales channels and increased revenue for small and medium-sized manufacturing companies, concerns have also steadily been raised about the possibility of unfair trade practices due to concentrated purchasing power of distribution companies and imbalances in trade status resulting from the increased proportion of the PB industry. The keynote presentation will be delivered by Jeong Yeon-seung, Dean of Dankook University Graduate School of Business, on the topic of 'Restructuring the PB Ecosystem and Strengthening Competitiveness of Small and Medium-Sized Manufacturing.' A free discussion will include representatives from the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, the Small and Medium Business Administration, the Korea Win-Win Manufacturing Federation, and the Korea Online Shopping Association. The meeting, organized by the Korea Win-Win Manufacturing Federation, is intended to discuss institutional improvements for the mutually beneficial development of the distribution and manufacturing industries.
