Samsung Electronics began rolling out an update for its Quick Share feature on Tuesday, enabling file transfers between Galaxy smartphones and iPhones. This update allows users to freely exchange files such as photos and videos between devices with different operating systems. Samsung Electronics is supporting cross-OS file transfers through Quick Share, enabling bidirectional sharing of various content, including photos, videos, and documents, between Galaxy and iPhone users. This move aims to lower platform barriers for file sharing between devices with different operating systems. The feature is compatible with Apple's AirDrop.

Previously, despite utilizing technologies like Bluetooth and Wi-Fi Direct, devices from both companies were not mutually compatible, forcing users to rely on messaging apps or cloud services for file sharing, which proved inconvenient. The introduction of this compatibility feature resolves the limitations in file transfers between different operating systems.

The update will be gradually applied via Wireless Software Update (FOTA) starting from the 23rd in South Korea. International markets, including the United States, Europe, and Southeast Asia, will see the rollout starting on the 25th, followed by Japan on the 26th. Samsung Electronics stated that it is also considering expanding the feature to existing models in the future.

The ability to easily transfer large files enhances usability for both work and personal use. Samsung Electronics has improved convenience for Galaxy users, allowing them to seamlessly share content with users of devices running different operating systems.
