Mother Admits Charges in Child Abuse Death From 6 Years Ago

Mother A, in her 30s, has admitted to charges of abusing and causing the death of her three-year-old daughter. Siheung Police in Gyeonggi Province are verifying the facts after receiving a confession from Ms. A, who is in custody on charges of child abuse resulting in death. Ms. A admitted to abusing and causing the death of her biological daughter, C, who was three years old in 2020. Police have arrested Ms. A and are investigating.

Ms. A stated that her motive was that raising the child was difficult and felt like a burden on her life.

B, who was in a romantic relationship with Ms. A, is accused of disposing of the body of the deceased child C in a mountain area in Wado-dong, Danwon-gu, Ansan-si. Police arrested Ms. A and Mr. B on the 16th after receiving a report from the school, and recovered the child's body on the 18th.

It was revealed that Ms. A applied for an enrollment deferral for her daughter to coincide with the child's entry into elementary school in early 2024, in order to conceal the daughter's death. This year, she brought Mr. B's niece to the elementary school multiple times, pretending she was C.
