Zelenskyy Claims Russia Aiding Iran with Intelligence Support
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced on the 24th that Ukraine has secured evidence that Russia is providing intelligence support to Iran. In a post on his social media account X (formerly Twitter), President Zelenskyy made this claim, citing a report from Oleh Ivashchenko, the head of Ukraine's Defense Intelligence. He added that Russia is continuing to provide intelligence support to the Iranian regime by using its capabilities for intercepting communications and analyzing electronic signals, along with data obtained through cooperation with its Middle East partners.
President Zelenskyy pointed out that Russia's intelligence support is "effectively prolonging the war" by helping the Iranian regime "stay in power and strike more accurately," emphasizing the need for a response.
The claim comes amid ongoing tensions between Iran, the United States, and Israel for over three weeks. Former U.S. President Donald Trump had also previously suggested the possibility that Russian President Putin might be "somewhat" assisting Iran.
