Shinhan Bank Sponsors Seoul's 3rd Donghaeng Store
Shinhan Bank has sponsored 60 million won for the opening of 'Donghaeng Store Branch 3 Cafe Ieum' at Seoullo 7017, an initiative designed to help homeless individuals become self-reliant. Following its 100 million won sponsorship last December for the launch of the first branch, the Korean restaurant 'Jeongdam,' Shinhan Bank has continued its support for the establishment of this third outlet.
Donghaeng Store is a Seoul City initiative to support the self-reliance of homeless individuals, aiming to help those in difficult circumstances build stable lives by providing them with employment opportunities.
The newly opened Cafe Ieum has hired five female homeless individuals as baristas, providing them with training and a work environment. The space will operate as a hub where homeless individuals' self-reliance converges with citizen participation. It will also promote social solidarity activities, such as creating knitted items in cooperation with citizen volunteers for distribution to vulnerable populations.
Shinhan Bank will maintain its cooperation with Seoul City to ensure Donghaeng Store serves as a vital channel for the social reintegration of homeless individuals. The bank plans to focus on enhancing employment stability for vulnerable populations by monitoring operational progress and addressing any emerging issues.
