KOMSCO Accelerates Commercialization of AI Anti-Counterfeiting Technology

KOMSCO has officially announced its transformation into an 'AI company.' The corporation is actively pursuing the commercialization of anti-counterfeiting and digital watermark solutions utilizing Artificial Intelligence (AI). To this end, it has been selected as a supplier company for the '2026 AI Voucher Support Program,' hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT (MSIT) and the Korea Institute of Information & Communication Technology Planning & Evaluation (IITP), laying the foundation to provide its self-developed AI technology to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and small business owners.

The provided AI-based anti-counterfeiting technology will be used to verify the authenticity of products and digital content and block counterfeiting. It is particularly expected to contribute to preventing social confusion caused by the misuse of AI, such as fake news and deepfakes.

Furthermore, KOMSCO has been selected for the '2025 AI Computing Resource Utilization Foundation Enhancement Program,' securing high-performance Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) resources. With these resources, the corporation plans to enhance its digital watermark technology and expand its application scope.

President Sung Chang-hoon stated that the selection as an AI voucher supplier and the acquisition of GPU resources represent a significant opportunity for KOMSCO to transition into an AI-specialized company. He emphasized the corporation's commitment to fostering a trustworthy digital environment and supporting SMEs.
