Major domestic financial groups are concentrating on four areas of innovation to enhance future competitiveness: building digital financial infrastructure, supporting arts and culture, expanding Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) management, and improving pension services for retirement preparation.

Shinhan Financial Group has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Bank of Korea titled 'MOU for Innovation in Digital Financial Infrastructure based on Deposit Tokens.' The agreement, attended by Shinhan Financial Chairman Jin Ok-dong and Bank of Korea Governor Lee Chang-yong, aims to jointly pursue a second pilot project for actual transactions of deposit tokens. The two institutions plan to expand cooperation centered on services immediately applicable in daily life, such as payments via delivery apps and travel insurance premiums, and also intend to introduce the concept of digital vouchers linked with government subsidies.

KB Financial Group released interview videos of artist Choise Jin, winner of the 'KB Star Award' in painting at the 'ZOOM IN' special exhibition for emerging artists at the 2026 Hwarang Art Festival, and sculptor Song In-wook. The videos are structured to naturally capture the artists' workspaces, creative processes, and the messages embedded in their works.

Hana Financial Group is conducting a volunteer activity called 'Growing Acorn Trees,' where employees personally plant seeds and nurture them into saplings over approximately 100 days for use in creating urban forests. The saplings grown by employees are scheduled to be planted at Noeul Park in Sangam-dong, Seoul.

NH Nonghyup Financial Group held its '1st Business Strategy and Synergy Promotion Council for 2026' on the 31st of last month, reviewing key strategic directions including response strategies for the capital market, advancement of senior-focused businesses, and promotion of financial services for dementia patients.

BNK Financial Group, through its subsidiaries Busan Bank and Gyeongnam Bank, has introduced a 'Retirement Pension Mobile Bond Trading Service,' allowing DC-type and IRP account holders to directly purchase government and municipal bonds via the mobile banking app. This move expands customer investment options beyond deposit-centric pension management methods.
