AI Robot Masters Cooking, Cleaning, and Tidying

A home AI robot, the 'Panther Series,' developed by Chinese robotics firm UniX AI, is undergoing field tests performing complex daily tasks such as cooking, cleaning, and organizing in real homes and service environments. UniX AI announced that the Panther Series is very close to commercialization.

Unlike existing home robots limited to repetitive, single tasks, the key differentiator for this robot is its design to manage an entire household's workflow from start to finish. The Panther robot can navigate homes autonomously, interact with objects, and execute multi-step complex tasks sequentially without continuous user input.

The Panther robot stands between approximately 160cm and 175cm tall and weighs around 77kg. It moves on wheels, rather than legs. It recognizes voice commands via a six-microphone array and its multi-jointed robotic arms can lift objects weighing up to approximately 11.8kg. It is also equipped with the ability to perceive its surroundings and navigate while avoiding obstacles using cameras, depth sensors, and LiDAR (Laser-based distance measurement device). The Panther Series can operate for six to 12 hours on a single charge, depending on the usage environment.
