Samsung Electronics has placed an order worth over KRW 10 trillion, including approximately 20 units of EUV (Extreme Ultraviolet) lithography equipment from Dutch supplier ASML. These machines are planned to be sequentially installed in the Pyeongtaek P5 cleanroom, scheduled for completion in the first half of next year, to expand production capacity for 1c DRAM and HBM4, the fourth-generation high-bandwidth memory. Samsung Electronics is currently operating approximately 40 EUV machines.

Domestic transformer manufacturers have also successively secured large orders in the North American market, driven by the surge in demand from AI data centers. LS Electric's subsidiary LS Power Solution signed a supply contract for extra-high voltage transformers worth KRW 106 billion with a U.S. energy infrastructure company, and Iljin Electric has contracted to supply transformers worth KRW 120 billion to a Canadian data center. The combined value of the orders for these two companies exceeds KRW 220 billion.

Since its acquisition, LS Power Solution has expanded its product range to include 345kV class equipment, covering the entire spectrum of power transmission and distribution. Iljin Electric's backlog in its heavy electrical equipment division reaches KRW 1.5 trillion, and it has secured production capacity to meet additional demand through the expansion of its Hongseong plant.
