Presidential Office Accelerates Consultations for Strait of Hormuz Passage Resumption

The Strait of Hormuz is a vital route for Middle Eastern crude oil exports, and as military tensions escalated, the safety of vessels transiting the strait had become uncertain.

Taking advantage of the ceasefire agreement between the United States and Iran, the Presidential Office announced on the 8th that it is accelerating communication with shipping companies and relevant nations to resume passage for our vessels through the Strait of Hormuz, while closely examining specific transit methods and conditions. A Presidential Office official, responding to reporters' questions about the timing for resuming our vessels' passage through the Strait of Hormuz, stated, "We will do our utmost to ensure our vessels can transit the Strait of Hormuz as soon as possible."

The official explained that Iran had indicated it would resume passage considering coordination with its military and technical constraints. The official added that necessary arrangements, such as a list of vessels requiring transit, would be swiftly re-evaluated through close consultation with shipping companies.
