Former President Yoon Suk-yeol to be Recalled as Witness in Defamation Case

The Seoul Central District Court's Criminal Agreement Division 35 (Presiding Judge Baek Dae-hyun) decided on the 10th during an ongoing trial to recall former President Yoon Suk-yeol as a witness in the defamation case on the 12th of next month, for the purpose of proceeding with the trial and confirming facts.

The court selected former President Yoon Suk-yeol, the victim in the defamation case, as a witness in September 2023. On October 10, 2023, Yoon did not appear in court, submitting a written reason for absence through his lawyer.

The court decided to recall him based on his statement that he would appear as a witness if necessary.
