Comedian Lee Jin-ho Referred to Prosecutors Over Illegal Gambling Charges

Comedian Lee Jin-ho has been forwarded to the prosecution after completing police investigations into illegal gambling charges. This is a significant issue related to his entertainment career, and his future will be decided based on the prosecution's judgment. The Gyeonggi Yangpyeong Police Station sent Lee Jin-ho to the Suwon District Prosecutors' Office Yeoju Branch last month on charges of illegal gambling without detention. The prosecution had previously requested supplementary investigations into gambling sites and related accounts. After approximately five months of additional investigation, Lee Jin-ho was again forwarded to the prosecution last month (February 2024), and the prosecution transferred the case to the Suwon District Prosecutors' Office Yeoju Branch, considering Lee Jin-ho's residential area.

Lee Jin-ho revealed via SNS last October that he began playing on illegal online gambling sites in 2020, leading to overwhelming debt.

In addition to the illegal gambling charges, Lee Jin-ho was also forwarded to the prosecution last September for driving under the influence (DUI) for approximately 100 km after drinking alcohol. His blood alcohol content at the time was at a level requiring license revocation.

Comedian Lee Jin-ho had paused his activities and was hospitalized in intensive care after collapsing due to a brain hemorrhage, but has since recovered consciousness.
