NIS Chief Lee Jong-seok: "Reconnaissance Assets Will Compensate for Intelligence Limitations"
National Intelligence Service chief Lee Jong-seok said that even if some intelligence gathering is limited due to Rep. Chung Dong-young's remarks about North Korean leadership "composition," the NIS's reconnaissance assets can sufficiently compensate.
Regarding the scale of the intelligence limitations, the director said they affect only a very small portion and that the intelligence lost can be adequately replaced using the reconnaissance assets the NIS holds.
He also said that regarding the US decision to withhold visas for ruling party figures, he believes it was due to US policy rather than a rift between Seoul and Washington.
